Rumlin Insurance Agency is the oldest minority-run insurance agency in Duval County and we continue to hold true to our roots. In 1977, Isaiah Rumlin, the agency owner, was appointed as the first African American agent in the county and the second in the state of Florida. Since then, we have expanded to two offices in Jacksonville, FL, serving the insurance needs of individuals, families, and businesses locally and statewide for over 45 years.

Isaiah’s Story
- Earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL.
- Began his career as a financial specialist with the State of Florida Insurance Department in 1973.
- Became an independent agent after working as a captive agent.
- Appointed as the first African American agent in Duval County and the second in the State of Florida in 1977.
- Invited to the White House in 2012 for a forum on “Jobs and the Florida Economy.”
Community Involvement
- President of the Jacksonville Branch NAACP.
- Serves non-profits and other local organizations.
- Serves on the advisory board of the UF Health Jacksonville.
- Serves as a board member of the Jacksonville Center of Achievements.
- Actively involved with the Dayspring Church.
- Appointed in 2012 and 2016 to serve on the Jacksonville Transportation Authority.
